I had a Ranger before and it was a nice machine. And with the Ranger being new I will get hit with the initial depreciation from taking it off the show room floor. The Ranger will burn fuel a lot faster than the BB400, and I figure not have as much aux output for power outages. I had also thought about A new Ranger 305G. (they all have similar hours and prices) What kind of hours could I expect out of this machine ? How much of a PIA is maintenance going to be ? Keep in mind im a welder not a diesel mechanic. The machine I am looking at is a 2011 Model with 3195 hours on it, and they want $9750 CAD for it. I have a Miller 12vs that I have purchased used (got a great deal on it). Equipment repairs and back up power for the house. I am thinking about purchasing one in the near future (few months). They are always selling off their rental fleets and replacing them. This deluxe model welding machine is designed and built to be the most reliable high.

The local rental place rents these machines out. Welder/generator/air compressor - Rent one machine that will do it all.
